Pastor Jake Dickerhoff began serving with Lutheran Church of The Way in August 2021, and loves what he gets to do in ministry! “The best part of my job is being with people and connecting how Jesus fits each of us into HIS story of our redemption and hope through Him.” He is a graduate of Concordia University – Wisconsin (Bachelor of Arts) in Mequon, WI and Concordia Seminary (Master of Divinity) in St. Louis, MO. During his tenure in ministry, Pastor Jake served with congregations in the Midwest, Colorado, Alaska, and, presently, New England (Raynham, MA). He and his wife, Nicky, are the proud parents of nine children, and embrace every bit of the excitement a big family brings. Originally hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Nicky is a highly skilled Neonatal Nurse Practitioner at a Level 3 NICU in Boston. The priority of balancing home and ministry means that ministry is always a family affair, where everyone has role. While serving in Alaska, Pastor Jake participated was invited with a few other community leaders in Anchorage to participate in the 23rd annual cohort of Leadership Anchorage with the Alaska Humanities Forum. Community engagement, caring for those who are high-risk and on the margins of society, giving space for difficult and uncomfortable dialogue around differences, and advocating for ALL of people to have a seat at His table – are some of Pastor Jake’s passion areas in ministry.
