Ed Harkey currently serves as our Pastor. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, with both a Master’s of Divinity, and Master’s of Sacred Theology degree. Previously he has served congregations in Columbus, Georgia and New Orleans, Louisiana. He is married to Miriam, his wife of 30 years, and has four children. In his spare time, Pastor enjoys playing guitar, “driving” vacations, writing, reading, and stamp collecting. On a more personal note:

Margaret is married with four children, eight grandchildren and four great grand children. She has been a member of LCW for fourteen years. During that time she has served in a variety of church positions working first as a volunteer and now paid Administrative Assistant in the LCW office on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings. In her spare times she enjoys reading, cooking , baking, listening to country gospel music and hymns, listening to Christian radio, spending time with family and relatives and also her family here at LCW.

Sandy is an accomplished musician who has performed in a variety of positions over the years. She is proficient in several musical instruments including organ and piano. Sandy has directed the senior choir for many years adding her special touch. She is patient and diligent in producing music appropriate for concert environments including Christmas cantatas, Easter productions etc. Sandy is married with two children and three grandchildren. Her hobbies include music, gardening, reading and enjoying her grandchildren.

Miriam has a special talent in working with children. For many years she has led the children to produce a variety of Christmas, Easter, Vacation Bible School and other functions including unique and fun songs complemented with a religious story. Miriam graduated the University of Texas with a degree in English, minoring in music. She is also fluent in Spanish. Miriam is married to Pastor, has four children with two in college. Her hobbies include singing.

The President is the executive officer of our congregation and presides at all meetings of the voting members and church council.

Oversees Evangelism, Sterwardship, Christian Education and Service Organizations. Seves as the Chairman of Public Relations. Peter has been involved with many aspects of the congregation serving in most rolls. He is married to Sandy and has two chidren, both active in the ministry.

The Council Secretary maintains a permanent record of all meetings, correspondence, official notifications, Constitution, Bylaws and a list of the voting members.

John has been active in church activities over the last 45 years serving in most positions. He is retired from the electro-optical industry with past involvement in management, strategic planning and marketing/sales. John is married to Janet and has a son in Ohio. Hobbies include cooking and piano playing.

The Assistant Treasurer backs up the Treasurer, and reconciles all bank accounts.

The Financial Secretary verifies all congregational income.

The School Board governs our Joyful Noise Preschool and has five members plus the Pastor and Preschool Director. Barb has held many positions at LCW and currently leads the LWML (WOW) group at church. She works for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans where she is the Lutheran Engagement Specialist for New England. She is married to Bob and they have four children and seven (soon to be nine) grandchildren. She and Bob enjoy traveling, especially to family, and taking part in mission trips.

Joann has a certificate for Administrative Assistant from Johnson & Wales University and an Advocate for Children with Learning Disabilities certificate from The Boston Base Federation of Children With Learning Disabilities. Joann is a teacher in the Tuesday and Thursday class at Joyful Noise Preschool in addition to her responsibilities in the church office. Joann and her husband Greg have one child Nicholas who attends Freetown Lakeville Middle School. In Joann's free time she enjoys watching her son play hockey.

Kim Swensen has been the Teacher's Assistant in the 4 year old class since 2002. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education and worked for 8 years in preschool and day care programs before taking time off to be a stay at home mom. Kim and her husband Curt have 3 children. When their youngest child entered first grade, Kim decided to come back to the classroom and accepted the position at Joyful Noise. She is lead teacher qualified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. In her free time Kim enjoys spending time with her family and visiting Cape Cod.

The Elders assist the Pastor in spiritual care of the congregation. Fred is Head Elder, Church Council member, Choir member, on the Prayer Team, past president and chairman of the Building Committee. Fred has many years working in the architectural field, several as a Project Architect. Currently a Realtor® and past President of the North Bristol County Association of Realtors.® He also has many years in key church positions at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Roxbury, MA.

Studied in the Deaconess program and assigned to Brook Farm Children's Home, West Roxbury, MA. Cared for 19 state and private children. Married with four children and four grandchildren. Held many church program and staff positions. Currently a Realtor and Administrative Assistant for the North Bristol County Association of Realtors®.

Responsible for the Christian Education program of the congregation and provides training of the youth and adults.

Controls of all the real and personal property of the church.

Evangelism shares with the Pastor in the entire program of proclaiming the Gospel by integrating new members into the life and work of the church.

Works with the time, talents and treasures of the congregation.

Coordinates all service organizations including LWML, Women of The Way, Youth Groups and choirs.
